GARDENDALE, Alabama — There is new excitement as one of the prime locations in Gardendale begins construction this week. “There’s a saying in commercial real estate–good real estate just keeps getting better and better and bad real estate keeps getting worse and worse, and that is so true”, said McAdam. On Thursday, a groundbreaking ceremony will be held at McAdam’s “Plaza II” development on Fieldstown Road, a location considered by Mayor Stan Hogeland to be the “Gateway to Gardendale”.
“I’ve made the statement that we’ve got to find a way to make Fieldstown Road longer,” said Hogeland, “and I say that in jest because Fieldstown Road ends at Highway 31. But, we are looking for creative options to enhance our gateway. We’re looking at everything we can to make our sites more marketable and more visible to these retailers.”
Plaza II is being constructed on Fieldstown Road next to Burger King, which was sold by McAdam. Plans for the development include 6,800 square-feet of rental space with room for three or four tenants. McAdam’s next project will be the 30,000-square-foot Plaza III, which will sit behind Circle Drive and will have space for 12 to 16 tenants.
“Whatever goes on in my development will have an impact on Gardendale citizens every time they drive by,” McAdam said. “I sincerely am trying to provide something that the Gardendale citizens will be proud and happy to have.”
Tenants for the new development will be announced at a later date.
Join us Thursday, October 22nd at noon for the Plaza II groundbreaking ceremony.
